I am Jenny of Jenny on the Ridge and I was born and raised in Michigan. I met my hubby on a blind date and went to a Red Wings hockey game. It was like we had known each other forever and the rest is history!

We moved to the east coast of Florida shortly after meeting. His elderly parents lived in Florida and we wanted to be close to them. We raised our 2 children in Florida. We made the decision early on that I was going to stay home with them. It wasn't always easy but we made it work. I eventually started volunteering at the children's school and that turned into me becoming a substitute teacher. I really enjoyed both volunteering and being a substitute. I was PTO president for a few years and I did a lot to bring fundraising for the school. I put my crafty hat on and took community donations and turned them into beautiful gift baskets that we would auction off at the Fall Festival. So much work but it was really fun! I started a Facebook page for the school. Then I started a coupon club (here comes my frugal side) and that was great being able to save money on groceries and share ideas about saving. I remember getting a lot of freebies and winning giveaways too.

Fast forward to today. We took a huge leap of faith and moved to the great state of Tennessee! I love having 4 seasons again! I feel so fortunate to be able to share my bargain finds as well as information about preserving food for long term. I am constantly learning new skills and I still win giveaways! Preparing for the unknown has become a big part of my life and I am so grateful to have this mindset. You can too. Follow along for ideas!
